photography has always been magical for me.
i found the drawer where my parents kept all of their photos one day when i was little and was sucked in. i remember sneaking into their room, opening that drawer and just losing myself in the old photos of my family, their friends, the adventures i've yet to hear about and the ones i've known personally.
and then finding a box of slides in the basement and setting up the projector and hearing our laughter join with my dad's as he tells of his travels as a young man, as we flip through to the next image.
those photographs, in that drawer or on the slide carousel, had a story behind each one. and that fascinates me.
if i come to your home, i'm immediately drawn to the photographs on your wall, your fridge, your table, wherever you have them. because there is a story to them. there's a story you love to tell and hear and remember. a story that makes you smile or cry - or both. a story you value infinitely, without question.
and i think everyone should have photographs that tell a story.
